LaCam® M 007 - The Laser Profile Measurement System

The laser profile measurement system LaCam® - M 007 is used for non-contact scanning of refractory lining in metallurgic reaction and transport vessels. Laser systems are primarily used in converters, EAF, torpedo ladle and steel casting ladles. Special applications of laser based profile measurements have been implemented in various aggregates used in steel industry.

The measurement values detected by laser scanners permit early and effective patching of defective locations and increase the life time of the refractory lining. Refractory costs are reduced while at the same time operating safety is increased. The product assortment ranges from mobile to stationary measurement systems. By continuing to develop the laser technology as well as the operating and analysis software, FERROTRON laser profile measurement technology is now the world's market leader.

Compared with our previous devices the LaCam® - M 007 enables much shorter duration of measurements. This is an essential improvement of the production process in steel plants. If requested, a measurement can be made within seconds after each tapping. The LaCam® - M 007 system is built into a sturdy mobile housing, so that a fast changing of the location is possible. It is easier to maintain due to the modular setup.

 

Scantrol®

Our laser based profile measuring system, LaCam®, as well as the robotic maintenance equipment, Minscan for electric arc furnaces, and other Minteq manipulators for vessels, ladles etc., have already substantially improved the refractory maintenance of metallurgical vessels. Our new control modul, Scantrol®, now combines these measuring and maintenance units to provide you with a fully automated process, which is much more accurate, rapid and safe than conventional refractory maintenance practices.

 

 

 

LaCam® - Torpedo

This new technology will provide steel makers worldwide with improved safety, increased ladle availability and capacity, extended refractory life and cost savings in energy, material and the maintenance of hot torpedo ladles, which are used to transport liquid iron from a blast furnace to the steel plant via rail.

LaCam® - Forge

This is a new and innovative measuring system for Open Die Forging shops.
